ep 7.2 - Jason Clark & Deep Church

February 25, 2008

This week on the podcast Josh Case, our EU correspondent, interviews Jason Clark from Deep Church. This is one of what we hope will be many European Emergent interviews.

Jason is what we call a vintage blogger, meaning that’s he’s been around a while and pretty much respected by everybody in the blogging community. Jason also is a point person for developing Emergent in the UK. Currently, Emergent-UK has over 3,000 pastors and leaders from a broad range of church streams/denominations, involved in ongoing discussion and a resource network, which he oversees.

You can find out more about Jason here. Jason also podcasts here (Emergent related) and here (church talks).

Joshua and Jason talk about Deep Church and a few other things. Be sure to stop by and check out his site and our good friend Josh Case’s site.

ep 6.5 - Helen Mildenhall: Mental Disorders & Faith Communities

January 6, 2008

Helen works over at Off The Map. She does some web development there. She also blogs at Conversation At The Edge. She blogs on faith and family. She has found readers from both the Atheistic background as well as the Religious background. One of the best things about Helen may be that her personality and her story has brought these two groups together.

In our interview she talks about mental disorders, the church, almost atheism, and her life. If you want to talk to Helen about her story there is a contact page on her website. Helen posted her thoughts on the interview as well as some links that tell more of her story here.

Rumor has it Red Cowboy helped out with that Off-The-Map site.

Music for this weeks podcast was a version of Arabian Nights that I covered with some hardcore rockers.

ep 6.0 - Troy Bronsink

December 2, 2007

Josh drove down to hang out with Troy Bronsink a couple of weeks ago. The following is when we decided to hit the record button for a few minutes and see what happened.

If you don’t know Troy, you’re missing out. Troy was recently named one of Atlanta’s Least Influential People by Creative Loafing Magazine, which has to be one of the better awards out there. He also has a chapter in An Emergent Manifesto of Hope (Josh’s review here) on being God’s handiwork. For this little informal session we talked about art, pastoring, the suburbs, city life, and the “acts” we do as artifacts.

ep 5.4 - Julie Clawson & Emerging Women

October 14, 2007

juliered2.jpg This week Nick interviews Julie Clawson, in another solo podcast where he is left without a wingman. He does a good job pulling it together and only having one Beth Moore reference.

Julie talks about the Mid-West Emergent Gathering, Emerging Women, enlightens us as to why it is that we see more men at conferences and gives some good bloggers you should read. This is just another show in a series that stresses the importance of womens voices on The Nick and Josh Podcast and in the Emergent Conversation at large.

Julie blogs here.

Here are some womens blogs that Julie recommends.
