ep 9.9 - Richard Cizik
November 14, 2008
In this episode, Joshua Case interviews Richard Cizik after his keynote speech at the Candler School of Theology Leadership Conference. Recognized by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World, Richard Cizik’s primary responsibilities include setting the National Association of Evangelicals’ policy direction on issues before Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court, as well as serving as a national spokesman on issues of concern to evangelicals. He is the author of more than 100 published articles and editorials, including the landmark document “For the Health of the Nation: An Evangelical Call to Civic Engagement.” Cizik was ordained in 1992 to a specific ministry calling in public affairs with the National Association of Evangelicals by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and maintains a very active preaching and speaking schedule.

So, I finally got around to listening to this episode this week. Cizik seemed to be saying a lot of good stuff, and I began to think that there was hope for the National Association of Evangelicals. Then, right after I heard it, I saw the news that he’d lost his job for being too outspoken. Bummer.
