ep 6.6 - Frank Viola & Pagan Christianity
January 11, 2008

Frank Viola has recently co-authored a book with the mythic George Barna called Pagan Christianity. It is a bit of a juggernaut flying through the history of the church with a small spin, Christianity lifted some source material from cults. It’s no new story. If you have studied much of the Old Testament or the history of the Hebrews you know it too well. Religion is buffet table. It gives and takes and sometimes the foods get mixed. To my knowledge this is the first book that gives a brief run through the New Testament church with a primer not written for the intelligencia.
Frank responds to some questions and objections here and he offers a free bonus chapter over here. His official website is PTMIN.org.
Nick’s review of the book is here.
This episode we mention two conferences in the Southeast coming up at the beginning of February. The new one that Frank will be speaking at is called A Sustainable Faith it only costs $25 for two days with Frank, Troy Bronsink, Shane Claiborne, and more. I will also be at Deep Shift in Charlotte, but the sustainable conference in Florida should be incredible as well.
