October 7, 2007
The podcast rolls on with an interview with Eric Elnes who, in addition to being a pastor with a Ph.D., is also a internationally known walker.
Eric is the co-founder of CrossWalkAmerica and a creator of the Phoenix Affirmations, he is also the pastor of Scottsdale Congregational UCC.
In the interview he talks about a 2500 mile walk across American to deliver the Phoenix Affirmations to Washington, DC. The walk is covered in his newest book Asphalt Jesus, and in a film called Asphalt Gospel. Both the film and the book tell the story of the walk that took 141 days and conversations that happened in 150 churches and in the houses of 200 families.
The affirmations and cross walk america exist to spread a progressive message about a new kind of Christianity.
Here is a YouTube link that communicates more of what Eric and his church does.
