ep 3.9 - Bishop John Shelby Spong
June 28, 2007
The latest edition of The Nick and Josh Podcast is up and ready for your download. This week Josh and I have some lovely banter about how he beats his dog and voted for Bush twice. Then we get to the meat and potatoes and have a great phone interview with the honorable Bishop John Shelby Spong. He talks about his newest book Jesus for the Non-Religious - a book I would call a must read.
Enjoy the interview and please, if you haven’t already, click the donate button on the right of the blog, Leslie and I need all the help we can get to raise support for moving overseas.
[Pre-podcast note: Bishop Spong does not believe in literal miracles, this may throw a lot of us for a loop. I believe what he has to say is still valuable, even if you feel you could never accept his thoughts on scripture, you may want to tune out, but I think we would all do well to hear the voices of others in our conversations about G-d]

Nick,
Thanks for doing this interview with bishop spong. Spong has really helped me make sense of faith. Can you expand on your views of bishop spong? Are you a fan? Maybe we can meet up in Charlotte this weekend and talk about it. I don’t find many other Spong fans, so I’m always looking for a conversation.
Lets chat in charlotte.
